Presley’s Kitchen + Bar Opening In Downtown Detroit

Detroit’s “Neighborhood Restaurant” will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner

February 26, 2024 – DETROIT, MI – Prominently perched on the corner of Park Ave and Woodward in the heart of downtown Detroit, Presley’s Kitchen + Bar will be opening the week of February 26, 2024. As Detroit’s Neighborhood Restaurant, Presley’s will complement Detroit’s Grand Hotel — a former Aloft transitioning to an Autograph Collection hotel in the renovated historical David Whitney building. The fresh culinary concept will service visitors, residents, businesses and event goers of Ford Field, Comerica Park, Little Caesars Arena, The Fox Theater, The Fillmore & The Detroit Opera House, all easily walkable to Presley’s.

Featuring inspired American cuisine with a daily changing Feature Card, Presley’s will offer a robust cocktail and dinner menu, but more importantly service breakfast and lunch in the underserved Downtown Detroit area. Approachable and familiar fares include Fig + Pig Flatbread, Brasserie Chicken and PK Shrimp & Grits, as well as Sunday Brunch every weekend.

Hailing from Chicago, Chef Eric Chaitin — a 30-year industry veteran —will create daily epicurean delights and specialties. Chaitin began his cooking career at a summer home for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, then further at the Hotel Intercontinental and the Ritz Carlton in Chicago, then as executive chef at Lettuce Entertain You. In early 2000, Chaitin became the executive chef at Roses on Reeds Lake, where he and his team won Restaurant of the Year. He spent 10 years at the Watermark Properties, where he won Chef of the Year twice.

Brandon and Karissa Davis of Davis Hospitality Group are the owners and operators, along with co-owner Jason Perras, a South Lyon native. Davis Hospitality's restaurant portfolio includes Novella’s Pizza in Milford, named after the Davis’ middle daughter, and Presley’s is named after their oldest daughter, who is in the 4th grade and now wishes nothing more than to be old enough to work at the restaurant of her namesake.

“We absolutely love the City of Detroit and are so excited to bring this great neighborhood spot to life for all to enjoy,” said Presley’s Kitchen owners Brandon and Karissa Davis. “We are thrilled to play a small role in the revitalization efforts of the David Whitney building and bring a fresh culinary concept to downtown.”

The interior design influence of Presley’s Kitchen + Bar stems from the rich history of the David Whitney building, harkening back to the 20’s and 30’s eras with an art deco vibe, greens, golds and marble. Built in 1915 as homage to the great lumber and shipping magnate David Whitney Jr., the building was designed by the legendary architectural firm Daniel H. Burnham & Co. and boasted a Neo-Renaissance style exterior with a beautiful terra cotta and glazed brick facade. Beautifully lit by a skylight and adorned with marble, terra cotta and gold leafing, visitors would come from around the region to shop at the Whitney Building and see the incredible architecture. After its opening, The David Whitney Building quickly established itself as the premiere address of Detroit’s best doctors and medical professionals.
